Auto Part Pulse is a VIN scanner and used-parts pricing tool for the auto trade. The short version: we collect your email address so you can sign in, the vehicles you look up so the app can show your history and so we know which cars to price next, and — only if you use those features — the messages you send us, the yards you buy in Yard Mode, and the inventory you keep in the enterprise inventory app.
We do not sell your data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not run ad trackers. Card details never touch our servers — Stripe handles payment. You can delete your account yourself, from Account in the app.
Auto Part Pulse ("we", "us") operates autopartpulse.com and the Auto Part Pulse app. We are based in the United States.
Questions, requests, or complaints: support@autopartpulse.com.
Collected when you sign in, send feedback, request a part we don't price yet, or ask to be emailed once a particular vehicle gets priced. Normally we email you a sign-in link and code. The Android app also accepts a six-digit code for a dedicated review account. Your email address identifies the account. We use it to authenticate you, to send service messages about your subscription (such as a reminder before a free trial converts to a paid plan), and to reply if you contact us. We do not send marketing email.
When you scan a VIN or build a report, the app records the vehicle — year, make, model, and the VIN itself:
If we have no photo for a vehicle, the app also reports its year, make, and model (no VIN, no account) so we can add one.
A VIN identifies a vehicle, not a person, and we do not link VINs to owners or look up registration or title records. Vehicle prices we publish are aggregates of eBay sold listings and never identify who scanned what.
Feedback and part requests contain what you type, the email address you give (optional for part requests), and, for a part request, the vehicle you were looking at. In Yard Mode, a yard price report contains the yard, the part, the price and core charge you enter, your note, and your account's email address. They are all delivered to our support inbox as email. A yard price you report can be added to that yard's prices after we check it, but your email address and note never are.
If you scan with your camera, the image is read in your browser to find the VIN or barcode. No image is uploaded to us. If you enter a ZIP code to sort yards nearest first, it is stored only on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else. We do not use your device's location.
If you subscribe, we record which yards your plan includes, so we can show them to you and bill for the right number. On Pulse Pro that is the one home yard you pick, and when you last changed it.
You can buy a pull list for one yard without an account. Stripe takes the payment and gives us the email address you enter at checkout, which we use once to send you the link to your list. The list itself is reached through that link; we keep no account for you.
If you use the enterprise inventory app, we store the inventory you add, import, or load: stock numbers, VINs, year/make/model, row, colour, engine, notes, the cars you mark as removed or crushed (with the date and the value shown at the time), your lot's name, and the yard it is linked to. That data belongs to you. We use it only to provide the service to you: it is not added to our pricing dataset and is not shown to anyone else. Removing or crushing a car moves it to your history, where it can be restored; deleting your account deletes all of it. You can export your inventory as a CSV at any time.
Subscriptions are billed by Stripe. Your card number never reaches our servers. Our account database holds only your Stripe customer identifier, your email, your plan and its status, and the yards on a Yard Mode plan. To cancel on the website, open Account → Manage subscription, which takes you to Stripe's billing portal. In the Android app, email support@autopartpulse.com for cancellation. Stripe's checkout and billing pages are run by Stripe, which collects device and payment information there to process payments and prevent fraud under its own privacy policy.
Our servers process your IP address to apply rate limits and keep the service available. Those counters are held in memory only and disappear when the service restarts. Our hosting provider's logs may contain IP addresses and requested URLs for a short period. Our sign-in provider records the IP address and browser used for each sign-in in its security logs, and the sign-in form may run an automated bot check, which reads browser signals to tell people from bots.
We use a privacy-focused analytics service that sets no cookies and does not build a profile of you across sites. It records page views and a small number of product events (for example, that an upgrade screen was shown) in aggregate. We use it to see which parts of the product work, not to identify individuals.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The app stores data in your browser's local storage to work at all: your sign-in session, your scan history, your settings and theme, your ZIP code and yard selection if you set them, cached links to vehicle photos, and a note of which vehicles have already been reported so it doesn't report them twice. Clearing your browser storage for this site removes all of it. Stripe's checkout pages and the sign-in bot check may set cookies of their own for security and fraud prevention.
We use a small number of service providers, each acting on our instructions and only for the purpose listed:
| Type of provider | What it handles |
|---|---|
| Sign-in and database | Sign-in, account records, synced scans, pricing requests, Yard Mode and inventory data |
| Payments (Stripe) | Payments and subscription billing |
| Email delivery | Sending sign-in links and service email, and delivering feedback, part requests and yard price reports to us |
| Email inbox | Our support inbox |
| Hosting and network | Running the application (United States), DNS, email forwarding for our domain, and the sign-in bot check |
| Analytics | Cookieless usage analytics |
The app in your browser also contacts some public services directly: government and public reference sources to decode VINs, fetch recalls and safety ratings, and find a photo of the vehicle (those requests contain the VIN or the year/make/model, but no account information), and public content delivery networks that serve code libraries and text-recognition data, which see your IP address as any website does. Links to eBay searches only contact eBay when you open them. If you want the current list of providers, email us and we will tell you.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, and we will do it. You can also delete your account yourself: open Account → Delete my account in the app, or use autopartpulse.com/delete-account without the app. That deletes your sign-in, synced scans, Yard Mode yards, enterprise inventory, and any pricing-request emails. If a subscription is still set to renew, cancel it first through the website's Manage subscription link or by emailing support@autopartpulse.com. Deleting the account then ends the cancelled subscription immediately; unused time is not refunded.
If you are in the UK, EU, or EEA, the UK GDPR and GDPR give you these rights formally, along with the right to object to or restrict processing, the right to data portability, and the right to complain to your data protection authority. If you are in California, the CCPA/CPRA gives you rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing — and as stated above, we do neither.
Our legal bases for processing, where the GDPR applies, are: performing our contract with you (running your account, subscription, synced scans, Yard Mode, and inventory), our legitimate interests (keeping the service secure and available, stopping automated abuse of sign-in, and knowing which vehicles to price), and your consent where you have given it (asking to be emailed when a vehicle is priced).
To exercise any of this, email support@autopartpulse.com from the address on your account. We aim to respond within 30 days. We will not charge you or make you jump through hoops, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
Traffic to the site is encrypted in transit. Most sign-in uses emailed codes; the dedicated Android review code is handled by our sign-in provider. Account data is held in a database the app running in your browser cannot read; only our server, using a secret key, can. No system is perfect, and we do not claim otherwise.
Auto Part Pulse is a tool for the auto trade and is not directed at children. Accounts are for adults (see our Terms), and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
We are based in the United States, our application is hosted there, and our processors are largely US-based, so if you use the service from outside the US your data will be processed in the US.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will tell account holders by email.
