Auto Part Pulse is a VIN scanner and used-parts pricing tool. The short version: we collect your email address so you can sign in, the vehicles you look up so the app can show you your history and so we know which cars to price next, and nothing else about you.
We do not sell your data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not run ad trackers. Card details never touch our servers — Stripe handles payment.
Auto Part Pulse ("we", "us") operates autopartpulse.com and the Auto Part Pulse app. We are based in the United States.
Questions, requests, or complaints: support@autopartpulse.com.
Collected when you sign in, when you send feedback, or when you ask to be emailed once a particular vehicle gets priced. Sign-in is passwordless: we email you a link and a code, so the address is the account. We use it to authenticate you, to send service messages about your subscription (including a reminder before a free trial converts to a paid one), and to reply if you contact us. We do not send marketing email.
When you scan a VIN or build a report, the app records the vehicle — year, make, model, and the VIN itself:
A VIN identifies a vehicle, not a person, and we do not link VINs to owners or look up registration or title records. Vehicle prices we publish are aggregates of public eBay sold listings and never identify who scanned what.
Subscriptions are billed by Stripe. Your card number never reaches our servers — we store only the Stripe customer identifier, your email, your plan status, and (for enterprise accounts) a hashed API key. To cancel, open Account → Manage subscription, which takes you to Stripe's billing portal.
Our servers process your IP address in order to apply rate limits and to keep the service available. We keep short-lived counters in memory for this; they are not written to a database and disappear when the service restarts. Ordinary server logs may contain IP addresses and requested URLs for a short period.
We use GoatCounter, a privacy-focused analytics service that sets no cookies and does not build a profile of you across sites. It records page views and a small number of product events (for example, that an upgrade screen was shown) in aggregate. We use it to see which parts of the product work, not to identify individuals.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The app stores data in your browser's local storage to work at all: your sign-in session, your scan history, your theme choice, and a note of which vehicles have already been reported so it doesn't report them twice. Clearing your browser storage for this site removes all of it.
We keep the list short on purpose. Each of these is a processor acting on our instructions:
| Service | What it handles |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Sign-in, account records, saved vehicles, pricing requests |
| Stripe | Payments and subscription billing |
| Resend | Sending sign-in links and service email |
| Render | Hosting the application |
| Cloudflare | DNS and email forwarding for our domain |
| GoatCounter | Cookieless usage analytics |
We also call public vehicle-data APIs operated by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to decode VINs and fetch recalls and safety ratings. Those requests go from your browser and contain the VIN or the year/make/model, but no account information.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Wherever you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it, and we will do it. If you are in the UK, EU, or EEA, the UK GDPR and GDPR give you these rights formally, along with the right to object to or restrict processing, the right to data portability, and the right to complain to your data protection authority. If you are in California, the CCPA/CPRA gives you rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing — and as stated above, we do neither.
Our legal bases for processing, where the GDPR applies, are: performing our contract with you (running your account and subscription), our legitimate interests (keeping the service secure and available, and knowing which vehicles to price), and your consent where you have given it (asking to be emailed when a vehicle is priced).
To exercise any of this, email support@autopartpulse.com from the address on your account. We will not charge you or make you jump through hoops, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
Traffic to the site is encrypted in transit. Sign-in is passwordless, so there is no password of yours for us to lose. Enterprise API keys are stored only as hashes. Account data is reachable only by our server using a secret key, not by the app running in your browser. No system is perfect, and we do not claim otherwise.
Auto Part Pulse is a tool for the auto trade and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
We are based in the United States and our processors are largely US-based, so if you use the service from outside the US your data will be processed in the US.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will tell account holders by email.
